Porsche's Dymond Driver
Parr Motorsport have confirmed that their latest driver for the 2012 Porsche Carrera Cup GB will be Chris Dymond.
The 24-year-old former top level international karter, embarked on his motor racing career in 2007 when he won the graduate title in the Renault Clio Cup. 2008 and 2009 saw him compete in the FIA GT3 Championship before he won the Radical UK Cup title in 2010. Last year Dymond participated in selected Blancpain Endurance Series events.
Chris Dymond is based at Silverstone and has been given the opportunity thanks to PPC Motorsport Marketing Limited. The signing of Dymond comes shortly after Parr Motorsport confirmed the fielding of Ben Baker and ensures the team have two hard-charging, young and ambitious racers with the ability to win races and strongly compete for the 2012 title.
A delighted Dymond told reporters: “In the Carrera Cup it is purely about me with no other factors. The career path with Porsche is very good and it is the best platform for me. Le Mans is where I really want to get to. I’m really aiming to be consistently in the Carrera Cup top three by the end of the year.”
Parr Motorsport Team boss Paul Robe concluded: “Chris is just the type of driver we want to run in the team. I’m really excited about working with Chris and I believe he has got great potential.”
